I am passionate about healthy skin. My Skin Therapy is something I am very proud of. It took me several trial and errors to understand what kind of skincare I wanted to practice. When I first became an aesthetician in 2006, I knew that I wanted to work in medical skincare. Naturally, I started out in Plastic surgery offices, moved to dermatology and finally cosmetic skincare offices. I received advanced training and certifications from various medical skincare lines as well as Polamar for IPL (intense pulse lights). I was very excited to learn about the newest technologies, laser treatments, surgeries and deep peels the medical field had to offer and I consulted closely with doctors on patients’ dermatologic care. However, I discovered very quickly that there was a profound part missing. I could never really identify with the damaging of the skin in the name of beauty. I thought that there had to be a better way to create beautiful skin. More and more I started to realize the kind of aesthetician I wanted to become. What I wanted most was to help my clients regain not just beautiful, but also healthy skin and so in 2009 Skin Therapy was born.
I started to seek out lectures that educated practitioners about advanced skin analysis. Understanding the damage the skin had undergone is a big part of my approach to skin transformation. Also, life style, diet, toxins, stress levels, sleep patterns and home care play a big role in the health of the skin. In 2015 I obtained my master aesthetician license in the District of Columbia to enable me to provide my clients with even more advance treatments.
I knew that I did not want to sacrifice results for the approach to skincare that I was about to take. I wanted my clients to experience the specific benefits of holistic skincare and so I realized that if I focus more on giving the skin what it needs for healthy cell renewal long lasting results were bound to follow.
